Bruno Paino is a Senior Consultant in the Ecosphere+ team focusing on forest sustainable commodities and supply chains with positive impacts.
Bruno has extensive experience on forest conservation, sustainable rural development and international trade. He has also been involved with coffee and cocoa agroforestry projects and enjoys being in the field, talking to the farmers and sharing/learning with indigenous communities.
Born in Lima, Peru, Bruno graduated as an economist and holds a Masters degree on Agribusiness from INCAE / CATIE in Costa Rica.
He has worked for the “Ministry of Foreign Trade” as deputy director for the “Peru Trade and Investment Office”, in London, promoting Peruvian agricultural products in the UK market. He supported The National REDD+ strategy at the Ministry of Environment in Peru, and researched on Amazon under-utilised fruits and cocoa with the World Agroforestry Centre. He had worked as a consultant on environmental and sustainable development issues for United Nations Development Programme – UNDP, the International Trade Centre – ITC, The Peru Export Promotion Board – Promperu, the National Biotrade Promotion Programme in Peru, among others.
Bruno has travelled extensively within his country and internationally. He loves playing football, reading books and enjoying nature. He is fluent in Spanish and English, with mid-level German and Portuguese knowledge.
