Kate is responsible for coordinating the environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of Mirova National Capital’s (MNC’s) Althelia Climate Fund (ACF) investments. She works within the MNC Sustainability Research team to assess the environmental and social impacts of projects, and alongside portfolio investments to ensure compliance with the groups environmental, social and governance standards.
Kate began working for MNC in June 2021 to cover Emma Lear’s maternity leave. Prior to working with MNC, Kate has worked in the agribusiness and forestry sector, predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa and West Africa for over 20 years. She has worked within a range of companies focusing on smallholder development, land tenure rights, human rights, climate change mitigation and broader community development in addition to short term contracts with DFIs to promote responsible agricultural investments.
Kate has a MSc in Environmental Resource Management and Sustainable Development from Swansea University.
