Paris, France, October 28
Bruno and Lisa attended the biggest event for chocolate makers around the world, with delegations from all major chocolate producing countries (Belgium, France, USA, and more) including many initiatives from cocoa producing countries that are starting to develop their own chocolate brands (Peru among them). The assistants to the trade fair on Saturday were mostly consumers and chocolate brands which were very much focused on sales, so it was good to make initial contacts and to identify companies. It was a great opportunity to engage with the Peruvian delegation and to identify other fine chocolate makers that could be interesting targets for us. It was also an opportunity to make contact with Brazilian nut exporters.
The show gave Ecosphere+’s Lisa and Bruno the chance to get Ecosphere+’s name into the chocolate market and also to meet with the representative of one of the biggest Peruvian cocoa exporters, Exportadora Romex, which are also developing their own brand of fine chocolates. This company is part of one of the biggest economic groups in Peru, with agricultural investments that include palm oil and cocoa plantations as well as coffee and cocoa trading.
