Marrakech, November 14-15, 2016

The sidelines of COP, the annual global conference where governments and business meet on climate, are always a roll call of events looking to inspire people to push one step beyond the negotiations.

Ecosphere+ was the official carbon offset provider and a sponsor for Sustainable Innovation Forum 2016, which was the largest side event at COP22.

At the Sustainable Innovation Forum, over 1000 national and local Government ministers, UN agencies, international NGOs, investors, the academic community and private sector came together to meet, network and discuss national climate targets and the drive towards the business innovations and solutions needed in order to achieve the ambitious goals of the Paris Agreement.

Several members of our team attended, including Anna Lehmann, Ecosphere+ Advisor, and Naazia Ebrahim, Strategic Analyst, to speak with people about the potential for forest carbon as a natural and cost-effective climate solution.

Our CEO, Lisa Walker, led a roundtable on ‘Paying for carbon: the real, tangible and immediate benefits’, focusing on the importance and relevance of scaling carbon pricing and the voluntary market, and was interviewed by event organisers Climate Action Programme on scaling demand, creating transformational change, and our projects.
